Since 2022, in Roswell

A chef, a rescue, and a very good idea.

The Gourmutt Kitchen started in a home kitchen when Chef Mike decided his dog deserved a real dinner. It hasn’t stopped growing since.
— Meet Chef Mike

Twenty years cooking for people. Now he cooks for their dogs.

Mike spent two decades in Atlanta kitchens — line cook to chef, catering halls to boutique restaurants. He learned to source, to butcher, to season, and most of all to respect the ingredient.
When his own dog started slowing down, the vet aisle didn’t have an answer he trusted. So he did the only thing a chef knows how to do: he cooked.
“If I wouldn’t put that ingredient on my kid’s plate, I’m not putting it in your dog’s bowl. Full stop.”
— Mike
— What we believe

Four rules we cook by. No exceptions.

Rule 01

Human-grade, always

Every ingredient could go in your dinner. If Mike wouldn’t eat it, your dog doesn’t either.
Rule 02

Small batch, by hand

No extruders. No shelf-stable shortcuts. Cooked in small trays the way you’d cook for family.
Rule 03

Local before national

Georgia farmers. Georgia butchers. A Georgia storefront. Shop-local isn’t marketing — it’s the supply chain.
Rule 04

Transparent kitchen

You can walk in and watch us cook. The pass is open. Ask any question.
— How we got here

From a home kitchen to a Roswell bakery.

2019

The vet visit that started it all

A shelf full of ultra-processed kibble. A dog with a bad coat. Chef Mike walks out and starts cooking dinner for his own dog in a home kitchen.
2020

Friends start asking

Word gets around the neighborhood. Mike is packing meals into Tupperware for other Roswell dogs before he’s even named the thing.
2022

The Gourmutt Kitchen is born

GA Dept. of Agriculture licensed. Small commercial kitchen. Georgia Grown member. The Muttloaf recipe becomes the flagship.
2024

The bakery opens on Marietta Hwy

A real storefront in Roswell where you can watch the food get made, meet Mike, and pick up meals warm.
Today

Feeding hundreds of local dogs

Weekly small-batch drops, a Story Wall filling up with before/afters, and a community that treats their dogs like family — because they are.
— The Family Table

It's a family business. Actually, literally.

Mike’s family runs the counter, plates the trays, and knows most of the regulars by dog first, human second. Come by on a Saturday and you’ll usually meet at least three of us.
